Agitators for secondary fermenters

The same is also applicable for the secondary fermenter as for the fermenter. The tasks of an agitator in the secondary fermenter are

to stir and extract biogas,
to avoid floating and sinking layers and
to homogenize the contents of the secondary fermenter.

As a general rule, the secondary fermenter does not have to be fed and the degradation process has already reached an advanced stage. For this reason, less agitation output is needed compared to a fermenter.
